abrother - RIP Is Not a Good Abbreviation
All
We see RIP written on tomb stones and web posts for those who have died. RIP is a abbreviation for "Rest in Peace"
According to September/October 2009 Archaeology magazine on p. 60, par. 1, brings out where this abbrevaition came from. It brings out: "RIP- for Requiescat in Pace inscribed on the cross in the crucification scene, which contradicts the idea of Christ resurrection."
What is see here are three things should raise eyebrows.
1.That is when someone wrote RIP in Roman times on crosses were NOT Christians!!! Let alone those who were bured there.
2. Those who wrote RIP did not except Jesus resurrection at all.
3. I see a close connection with crosses and abbreviated RIP in which is totally pagan and anti-Christ.
